| The Cabomba, also known as the Carolina Fanwort, has feathery green
leaves, which are divided into narrow segments. The Cabomba has a delicate,
feathery appearance to its leaves, and a rich green color throughout. It
is commercially available in a variety of forms.
The Cabomba will not tolerate CO2 deficiency. It requires pristine water and intense lighting. Supply a minimum of 75-watts of lighting for every 25 gallons of aquarium water. Water temperature between 72°-82°F, a dissolved carbonate hardness of 2°-12° and a pH of 6.5-7.2 is ideal for proper growth. Transplanting and constant trimming are also not tolerated well. Cuttings removed from mature, healthy plants achieve propagation of
the Cabomba plant. It should be placed in the back of your aquarium, in
groups for the best look.
